The short version of the difference: since 1 Jan 2021, the UK runs its own data-protection regime; the ICO (not the EDPB) is the regulator, and international transfers out of the UK require the UK-IDTA (International Data Transfer Agreement) or the IDTA Addendum to EU SCCs, not bare EU SCCs. We handle both regimes โ€” so if you operate in the UK + EU, your DPA covers both.
Can we pick UK data residency, or is it EU-only?
You pick. Default primary region for UK customers is London; secondary Europe region is Frankfurt. Enterprise-tier customers with stricter residency requirements (public sector, healthcare, financial services) can pin to UK-only with a documented sub-processor list and UK-IDTA on file.
Do you issue HMRC-compliant VAT invoices in GBP, and does MTD work?
